Web Hosting/Domain Name Registration

So I always have friends that are asking me about where they should get their domains registered and where they should get their web hosting from. So here is my recommendation: 

Since the day I first bought my first domain and my first hosting plan I’ve remained with the same companies (although they have gone thru name changes & been bought out.) I am loyal to these companies for a few reasons but the most important ones being reliable service, great customer service & good prices. 

A little strange thing about me is that I have my domain registered thru a different company than my hosting. This kind of just happened because when I was younger I didn’t really know what I was doing - so I bought a domain first, then realized I was going to get my site hosted somewhere else. Keep in mind, I was about 15 when I bought my first domain. If you’re wondering, my domains are registered at AxisHost, they have good customer service, and have always been reliable for my domain registration needs (although to be fair, those needs can easily be met thru most companies.)

Now the more important part. Hosting. The first time I ever bought hosting it was with this little company called Game Show Hosting - that now no longer exists. For a long time the owner of that company kept me on, even after he had suspended service and when he created a new company named Xokin, he was kind enough to grandfather my plan in. More recently, Lithium Hosting has taken over Xokin. I cannot say enough good things about these companies that I’ve been hosted with over the course of 10+ years. I’ve always been able to trust these companies for reliable solid service. Anytime I’ve ever had any questions or issues they’ve been able to help resolve the issue quickly and efficiently. And an added bonus is that they have always to keep their prices low and affordable - so you get great service at a great price.

*A note about domain registration- you can usually register your domain at the same place you purchase your hosting. So unlike me, I would recommend you purchase both from the same company as it just makes it easier to keep track of. There isn’t really an upside to me having my domain purchased from a different company except I have auto-renewal for my domains so I usually forget about transferring them over.

For all your web hosting needs, please go with Lithium Hosting! Save me the headache of dealing with GoDaddy.
