Not that I need to do any more shopping…

Not that I need to do any more shopping…

WANT/NEED THIS! I’m getting into pinned brooches lately. And I love shopping for holidays, I’m a little late on this, but I’m running out to go buy some new clothes for Chinese New Year today. Traditions need to be kept, even if I was too busy earlier this week to do so.

Holiday Skirt

So on my quest for something sparkly for New Years/the holidays, I finally settled on something! Built By Wendy is having an online sample sale right now and I scored this lovely skirt for only $49, marked down from $102! I’d get over there right now, the selection isn’t huge, but everything is super cute.

Some other cute things they have on sale right now are posted below. Sale ends on Friday 12/17, so get to shopping!

Holiday Dresses

I’m searching for more holiday dresses because I find that to be the only excuse for me to shop these days. My work environment lends to an “everything goes” kind of atmosphere, so I don’t have a reason to shop most days.

Now that Thanksgiving is over, I’m ready to dive into the holiday mode. I’m the girl that will listen to Christmas music in July, so now that December is approaching I’m getting excited for Christmas decorations, potato latkes, and sparkly dresses for New Years Eve! What can you expect, my name is Holly - that’s as festive as you can get.

I was browsing through Nasty Gal and came up with this outfit as a possible option for NYE 2011!

I need the perfect sparkle for New Years! The hunt is on!

Fall Coats - Part 2

After much back and forth and gathering opinions, I think I’m going to buy the Capella Coat. However, I’m also looking at some other non J.Crew options now. The two below have caught my eye. They’re more expensive, but I think the quality and design speak for themselves. So now, I’m trying to decide if I should purchase one of these instead!

Belted Overcoat by See by Chloé - Wool blend coat with decorative belt detail.

Round neck / Hidden button closure down front / Single exposed oversized button at neck / Long sleeves with belted detail at cuffs / Seam at waist / Slits at sides / Seam down center back / Decorative belt drapes in back / Fully lined / Straight fit / Color: Green Fleck / 30% Wool, 26% Mohair, 21% Acrylic, 12% Nylon, 11% Polyester / Lining: 100% Cotton / Sleeve Lining: 59% Acetate, 41% Viscose.

Coat w/ Self Belt by Acne. Oversized wool blend coat with removable leather belt.

Dropped shoulders / Zipper at front with ribbon detail / Zipper vent at cuffs / Leather piping at cuffs / Welt pockets at hips / Leather belt at waist ties at front / Oversized fit / Color: Graphite / 70% Wool, 10% Acetate, 20% Polyamide / Lining: 60% Acetate, 40% Cupro.

I know I’m being sort of indecisive, but I feel like a nice coat is a real investment. I’m definitely not knocking J.Crew’s quality, but if I’m going to drop a pretty penny on a coat, it might as well be a nice one I know I’ll be wearing for years to come.

Any other brands/websites you think I should consider?

Winter Wear: Zara Edition

As I previously wrote, I was in complete denial last year that I needed any winter clothes. So yesterday I went down to Zara to pick up some sweaters. I ended up buying two sweaters and a nice pair of pleated pants that I’ve been wanting some time now.

Zara Pleated Trousers

They fit great and are really comfortable. I’m actually wearing a similar outfit to this photograph today. The sweater below, tucked into these pants and some Seychelles oxford heels that looks somewhat similar to the photo above.

Zara Short V-Neck Sweater (in both Green and Beige)

After my first time buying from Zara, I’m a little hooked on their basics now. There are a bunch of great things on their website that I’d love to get into my wardrobe. I’m still looking for some more sweaters, pants and a classic black turtleneck. Now that I’m realizing I don’t have any warm clothing for winter, I feel like I’m way behind and need to play catch up!
