i remember when i took a user interface design course two years ago, we had two groups of students in our class work on this exact product design. i’m really surprised someone hasn’t made it yet. i think art students are always ahead of the curve when it comes to design and technology… creative thinking is so much more advanced because of new innovative thought than computer programmers… haha, mike don’t kill me for saying that! meghanasha: One of the biggest issues with mobile payment applications is security. Whatever company is ballsy enough to take this risk needs to hire the programmers that have worked with risk and security in banking. I bet if we see an app like this in the next year, it will be revolutionize the way we lend money and make payments. brit: Thought about RFID payments this weekend when I didn’t have any cash to tip someone. It would be awesome if I could just tap my phone to his to send five bucks. Cash is so old school. I’m ready for the future. tmblg: thijsjacobs: Extremely frustrated with carrying around a heap of plastic, cash and a bulky wallet and just loving my iPhone; I quickly mocked up what an RFID enabled iPhone Payment app would look like. Obviously, one could do a lot better and integrate a nice “Receipts” tab inside the app, but I think this is a first step in the right direction. All I want to do is take out my iPhone, swipe the thing, enter my PIN and complete the transaction. RFID is an awesome proven technology, that allows you to do just that and would be great on a next-gen iPhone. Please Apple help me kill my wallet! Grab the individual pics here and here.
