day 3 update…
i finally went grocery shopping, here are a few thoughts on that…
- markets here are smaller, more cramped, dirtier, and overall more expensive.
- i can’t really afford to eat… so i only bought bread, grapes, avocado, brie, mixed salad greens, cereal, milk, pasta, pasta sauce, and crackers.
- i calculated how much money i have for the rest of the month, and let’s just say it’s under $150… and it’s july 3rd, so i have 28 more days to survive on this budget.
- i miss having a trader joes and ralphs right near me at all times. or even a vons.
- when i first walked to the grocery store i was overwhelmed because i knew my budget was like $25, and i stuck with that. but i just didn’t even know what to buy - and that usually never happens.
my room is coming along, but i don’t want to buy hangers or shelves or a wardrobe. because i just don’t want to spend that money, so i don’t know what i’m going to do. all my clothes is just in bags cause i took them out of my suitcase, and my closet is pretty tiny so it can’t fit it all anyway.
that’s it for now… new york is going along, not sure if it’s the best situation at this moment though.
